WOW!! It’s hard to believe how amazing our day at school went! We had an assembly for Soles for Souls. Ms. Stephanie Hathaway from the Soles4Souls organization came and spoke to the whole school (yep, everyone in the school!) about where the shoes are going.
Last week, we got to meet with the Superintendent, Dr. Daugherty, and School Board member, Mrs. Carrie Coyner. They came to see what was going on, and even brought in some shoes to donate. We have decided that 1000 shoes is not going to be enough. There are so many people we can help, so our new goal is 2000 pairs of shoes…yep, that’s right, we think we can get 2000 pairs. We are asking for help from the community, and can’t wait to see what happens. We have learned that people love to help if given the chance. If you want to see how the visit with Dr. Daugherty and Mrs. Carrie Coyner went, check it out here.
Things have been really exciting at our school! We quickly passed our original goal, and had to make a new shoe meter to measure the amount of shoes coming in for Soles4Souls. Everyone has been so kind, and the shoes just keep on coming! More and more everyday! Lets help as many people as we can! Click here for a video where our cousin was using her fabulous artistic ability to make our new shoe meter.
If you have been watching our videos, you probably already know that our kind kids club from school has been collecting shoes for Soles for Souls (if you have not seen, you can click here to fill you in!) We had a goal of 200, and we have our shoe meter made by our wonderful cousin Rachel to measure our progress. Well, guess what? Today we counted our shoes and we have collected 285 pairs!!! And we are only just beginning. We will keep you updated!!
So, we like to laugh…a lot. The picture here is Sawyer and
Kelsey making us laugh. They kept putting pretend mustaches
all over their faces, and talking in silly accents.
Now, that is funny! Even kindness can be silly. Sometimes,
making someone else laugh is the kindest thing you can do.
Speaking of funny, we came up with a few “kindness” jokes.
Let us know if you have some funny jokes!
We are back with some really exciting news! We talked to our principal this week and we are going to start a Kind Kids Club at our school. We have some really cool ideas, and we can’t wait to get more kids and teachers at our school involved. Our first meeting is this Thursday. We will be discussing our “Socks of Love” program for this year, and also talking about what our next big project that we want to accomplish. We will let you know how it goes on Thursday, and maybe you can start a Kind Kids Club at your school too!
The other day my mom and I went to get gas after my Nona’s birthday dinner, and we pulled up to the gas tank, and something was hanging off of the gas pump. Someone had attached a bag that had a mother’s day cross and bible verse with some candies inside the bag for the next customer that pulled in. We ended up leaving it for the next customer, but thought it was a very kind gesture!
We are collecting Soda Pop Tops for the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House helps kids and their families have a place to stay when the child is receiving treatment. Drink soda and help kids, sounds like a win win to us! To find out more information: click HERE.
Kiki spent part of spring break and DC and even rode the Metro! And, met an extremely kind Metro Manager, Ms. P. Kind is for everyone.
