In Loving Memory of Cooper

DSC_1447.JPGHey it is Lexi! I bet you are wondering who Cooper is! Cooper was my wonderful little puggle fur baby. He was such a cuddle bug. Sadly, he passed away on Saturday, March 28 2020. But our family knows that he crossed over the rainbow bridge and is up in Heaven with our other 2 other dogs, Gavin and Will.  The next day, my family had a ceremony for Cooper and there were a lot of tears as we made a beautiful memorial garden for him.  We were feeling really sad about everything going on in the world and then losing our Cooper-Duper. Then, we started thinking about how much happiness Cooper brought to our family and that we needed to do something that would cheer people up (we needed it too!) So, me, my mom and dad, my sister, and brother went around our neighborhood and passed out “Be Kind signs”. We made sure to wear gloves and carry a small stick to ring the doorbells.  My sister was really fun – she would ring the doorbell, sit the sign down and run like crazy! What I loved was everyone would come out on the porch and say “Thank you.” They would also read the paper and hang it outside so everyone could see! Today, everyone has their signs posted outside in their yard so people can see them when they walk by  because everyone is taking walks now.  People are asking for Be Kind signs and we are excited to deliver! So in memory of Cooper I would love for you all to do two things pray for us- all of us and remember, BE KIND – kind is cool! Also be careful and please stay safe. Remember to self distance yourself. Please follow the rules that the governor said.

Happy International Day of Happiness

Happy International Day of Happiness!  I am feeling like this world is pretty crazy right now and a little scary – I am not able to do the things that I normally do every day like going to school, hanging out with my friends, playing soccer on my soccer team, hanging out with my cousins, and going to see my grandparents.  Even though we are in quarantine and social distancing (aka feels like I am living on my very own island), we still need KINDNESS!

You ask “How can we show kindness right now?”  Good question!!  How about playing with your brother or sister?  You can do this!  Look, I have 3 of them!  It’s working pretty well!!!  Get exercise and stay healthy and when you go for a walk, wave to your neighbors and say hi from a distance.

The International Day of Happiness really needs to be longer than one day – ESPECIALLY NOW!  What are you doing to stay happy?  I get to FaceTime my cousin in a little bit and that makes me happy!  My family also has some pretty amazing dance parties.  What are you doing to stay happy??

World Kindness Day

Happy World Kindness Day!  Are you wondering what IS World Kindness Day?  On a site it says that “The purpose of World Kindness Day is to highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness that binds us.”  Some of the countries that observe World Kindness Day are Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates!  Wouldn’t it be so cool if everyone did at least 1 good deed for kindness day.?! Now that would be awesome!! Just imagine waking up knowing that you are going to meet kind people who make you feel better because your heart is full of kindness!D68B4469-6F8F-4C27-9CC7-1C3668A28B78

So…what can we do to make tomorrow the best day ever? Here are some ideas-

  1. Anti- bullying projects or make anti – bullying poster
  2. Hold a door for someone
  3. Help someone with their groceries
  4. Tell a community service worker thank you (I also bet they would really love cookies or a drink of water or soda.
  5. Put yourself in someone’s shoes for a day
  6. Give someone a compliment
  7. Start a conversation with somebody you usually don’t talk to.
  8. When you are in the drive thru buy someone a pack of cookies
  9. Take the garbage out for a neighbor (or make cookies)
  10. Surprise clean up for somebody you love

Please leave a reply down below and share the cool kind things you do and pictures too!!  It would be awesome if everyone shared and we can show the world it can definitely be a greater world when we do something little like just being  KIND!

Remember, KIND IS COOL!!

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Since we were born, we have known nothing but freedom. We were lucky enough to be born into a country that allows us to have freedoms that many places do not have. And, we know that there are people who have and are willing to fight for that freedom everyday. They are even willing to die to protect us if they have to. Thank you to all the past and present veterans! We are happy to be kids in the United States that have people who are so brave protecting us. Happy Veteran’s Day!!

Spreading Kindness!

Hi! It’s Lexi! It has been a busy fall and I have a lot to tell you!  “Be Kind “ signs are being made and passed out like crazy! My brothers and I hosted another paint party with friends from our school and my church youth group came to help us paint even more “Be kind” signs. Lots of the signs went to other students in our schools because they signed up for them. So, are you interested in making “Be KInd” signs?!  It’s not too hard – what is really cool is that you get to see how nice people can be and want to be.  I think sometimes people get really busy and don’t think they have time to do things like make signs to pass out.  Or maybe they think what is the big deal??  Making the signs and passing out signs is my FAVORITE thing to do because I LOVE to see people’s faces when they get one.  People start to smile and want to know more about the signs and well, it’s easy – BE KIND to each other!  Are you interested in a paint party??  Here’s what you need to do : 1. Gather materials. 2. Ask your family and friends. 3. Make stations around where you are working.  Here’s how we did it – A group of people painted the black on the sides and let them dry. Then some people painted the white on the front. Other people painted the words BE KIND and the hearts on the front. We let them dry and… the signs were all ready to pass out!!  Everyone who came to help took signs with them – that’s how it goes!  Cool, right?  Remember, KIND IS COOL! Enjoy the pictures.:)

A day to always remember

Hi there! It’s Lexi! So, the last post was when a whole bunch of people worked really hard to make BE KIND signs- we had my brother’s volleyball team come over and help paint signs and my cousins and friends and other parents and family!

facebook_1568861081479.jpg

The reason is because 9/11/ is important to my family so in remembrance and service for the people who served during the tragic time for any family that had a family member that served as a firefighter, police, and etc. I want to take you back to 9/11/2019 last Wednesday. There were 5 very large 4 foot by eight foot signs that went to 4 schools! The signs went to 2 elementary schools, my middle school, and both my brother’s high school- the west campus and main campus! The principals of the schools are AWESOME!!  They get it! They know that it’s really important! Students had the chance to sign their names and pledge to BE KIND. During our lunch time the whole school signed the big BE KIND signs. Guess what?  Our friend, Miss Gini the person who started the BE KIND signs came to my school to help us pass out the BE KIND signs that were smaller.  It was so special having her there!. There were so many people who donated materials like paint, lumber, markers, rollers, drop cloths! There were so many people who went to our schools to help out!  There were so many people who made the day special! Our friend Mr. Thompson from the news and Mr. Chris (the camera man) came to our school to help spread that KIND IS COOL It is a day I will never forget!  I hope it is a day no one EVER forgets! Wouldn’t it be so cool if every year on 9/11, we all work really hard to do something in honor of the brave people of 9/11? Wait a second, wouldn’t it be cool if we worked really hard to be kind EVERY day?!?!  Remember, KIND IS COOL!!

Project Kind Signs

So…we are back at school! And, that means the Kind Kids Club is back in action. And,  boy are we starting out big. This Wednesday we are spreading the kindness through signs at school. Not just any signs, but signs made with love with materials donated by caring people from the community (thank you to all those who donated, you are making the world a nicer place!)

Over the weekend we had a group of people come together (students, parents, teachers) to make signs that we are able to pass out on 9/11. It was very encouraging to see other people doing kind things and helping out with a big project. We were able to work together and make 300 signs (whoa, that’s a lot of signs!!), plus 5 large signs to be delivered to schools in our area.

The plan is for the large signs to be signed by kids during their lunch period, and these signs will be displayed all year as a reminder to stay kind and treat people the way you would want to be treated. Please take a look at the pics to see the fun we had making our signs! And, maybe you could make some signs to pass out too!!
